Dave grew up in a musical family
as Dave's father worked in the wholesale musical
instrument industry. Started playing drums at
11 and was playing with bands from 13 on. After
graduating from high school, Dave attended a
music arts course in London, Ontario where he
met Derry. Both Derry and Dave started working
together with Steve Blimkie and the Reason.
The band recorded two albums on Ready Records
(The Spoons, The Demics, Blue Peter) and toured
across Canada. Highlight of that band was opening
for XTC at Massey Hall in Toronto.
Dave followed Derry into Honeymoon Suite in
1983 where he remained until 1991.
After leaving the band, Dave worked at SOCAN
(Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers
of Canada) for 11 years as a Member representative
and main liason between the music industy and
the society. He enjoyed that experience very
much in that he got to meet many tremendously
talented artists and people from the industry.
After leaving SOCAN in 2003, Dave devoted his
time to being a stay-at-home father to his daughter,
who is now four years old.
Dave is very much looking forward to this opportunity
to be playing with the original Honeymoon Suite
for the summer tour of 2007.
